Green Beetle of Sri Lanka

Funnily, my kid managed to see this small exotic looking green beetle one afternoon and luckily, it stayed on till I got my Camera. The blessing was that the Camera had just enough charge for me to capture the beauty of the creature and it did not fly away though I got quite close to get the shots..

Rare species of Beetle

Recently saw this rare species of beetle in Colombo Sri Lanka. I had seen the same kind before in rural parts of the country, but, was a first for the city. Anyone out there know what it is or any more details of the variety. Please comment below.

Funnily,  it is more square than round shaped than the normal beetles we find. I also wish to know whether the same could be found in other parts of the world.
