Sri Lankan Woodpecker Bellanwila

Usually considered to be a fast moving bird that cannot stay still for too long, this gorgeous woodpecker provided just the sufficient window to get a few clicks off him. Enjoy and please do share with your friends

Sri Lankan Hawk in Attidiya

The Sri Lankan Hawk - well I got one in my own back yard which is close to the Bellanwila / Attidiya bird sanctuary. This wilderness promotes natural habitat to many species of birds, fish and other small animals and could be visited any day of the year. To my knowledge this bird is called Gurulu Goya / Kurulu Goya in Singhala and does feed on other varieties of small birds apart from the insects, fish and worms found around it's habitat.
